Mount Board
The
choice of mount board is an important element of the framing process.
The mount you choose will have an important visual impact, it will create
a gap between the artwork and glass and will also contribute to the protection
and preservation of your artwork.
Here at The Mulberry Tree Gallery, we use 3 types of mount board:
- Museum
- Conservation
- Standard/White Core, neutral boards - only used
on objects and artwork that have no monetary or sentimental value and
where the customer will be advised that it will offer little protection
and may contain high levels of damaging acid (lignin) which can burn
into the artwork leaving visible damage.

In the majority of cases we will always recommend the use of either museum or conservation mount board as it will help protect your object or artwork from deteriorating. The mount board is acid-free, fade resistant, bleed resistant and age resistant.
We offer a comprehensive range of colours, textures and thicknesses and your mount can also be wash-lined to order.
